La Artemisa vulgaris su nombre se debe a la diosa griega Artemisa, hermana gemela de Apolo y protectora de la vida femenina. conocida como ajenjo chino y hierba de san Juan presente en todo el territorio europeo desde tiempos remotos viene utilizada por sus propiedades depurativas y tonificantes. se trata de un arbusto tupido, sus hojas tienen una coloración verde gris claro, en verano nacen sus pequeñas flores amarillas. esta planta contiene un gran cuantitativo de principios activos de varia naturaleza, de sus hojas se extrae un aceite esencial eficaz como antiséptico. Cambiando modalidad de uso y bebiendo la infusión puede ser utilizado como digestivo y anti inflamatorio, ayuda a eliminar las migrañas o dolores de cabeza, también alivia dolencias como la artritis, dolores menstruales y aporta una sensación de bienestar tras una digestión difícil. Se conseja endulzar la infusión con Miel de Tomillo y agregar tres gotitas de limón si se desea, optima para beber después de cada comida. El aroma que emana del arbusto ayuda a mantener alejados del jardín a los roedores no deseados.
